Rihanna rocks the perfect shade of red lipstick, find out how you can too!

Two of the most difficult tasks in the life of every girl is finding the perfect bra and finding the best shade of red lipstick. I have long suffered with both, but we will only tackle the lipstick problem today. (Though I promise I'm working on a post to help curvy chica's find the best bra!)

If I could total the amount of money I've spent purchasing a
variety of different shades of red lipstick, I could probably take a trip to Europe with it. I'm not even joking.

During a beauty event, I asked one of the make-up artists to give me a tip on finding the right shade for me. It was at that moment that I realized that I had been buying tubes with blue undertones but I really needed ones with orange, much like Rihanna's!

So when I visited my local Macy's, I decided that the best thing to do was to check out the MAC counter with trained make-up professionals. The woman that assisted me was wearing the exact shade I ended up taking home.

My beauty battle might be over but how can you find out what red suits you best?

The most important thing to consider when shopping for lipstick is the color of your skin. If you have medium/dark skin with warm undertones, your best bet will be to grab a more orangey/golden color like Riri and I.

But if you are more fair skinned with rosy undertones, you will score with a tube of blue-based red. Blue reds include burgundy, mauve, and plum.

If you want to be ABSOLUTELY sure about a shade, I would recommend you go into a department store and have them test out a color on you. Walk around the mall or shoppes wearing the color and see how it makes you feel.

Check yourself out in mirrors and look out for reactions from strangers!

It was amazing all the compliments I got from my M.A.C. lipstick in "So Chaud" while I wore it around for a couple of hours. I caught myself feeling more confident and even a little dangerous in such a hot red!

I snapped this photo right after I tried the lipstick on, hence the scared face! But if you could see me wearing my "signature color" out to events now, you would see how much I adore it.

Just make sure that if you do rock a red, you keep the rest of your make-up to a minimum. Let your new shade be the star!
