Life Too Hectic? Make Time For Yourself!


Life can be hectic, extremely hectic and many of us nary find time to pamper ourselves because we are too busy working, taking care of our families, and countless other tasks that would take this entire page to cover! I love the photo of the woman above because she looks carefree and most importantly, happy.

Beauty & Lifestyle Expert Melissa Liebling-Goldberg, who is the Fashion & Beauty Director of POPSUGAR, has some great tips to share with you here, to help infuse your days with activities that are naturally good for you and enjoyable to boot: 

1) Keep your energy up during the day with protein-packed snacks.
  • Stock up on individual packets of almond butter. For a pre-workout pick-me up, I have my almond butter with a banana. Lots of potassium, protein, and it tastes like a decadent dessert while being under 200 calories! 
2) Give your day a fun lift by taking the "St. Ives Naturally Joyful Challenge
  • With a checklist of five activities like indulging in a piece of dark chocolate or waking up extra early to fit in a workout, it’s all about enjoying the moment. Simply snap a picture as you complete each activity, share on your social networks and enter for a chance to win prizes! Another fun part… you can invite your friends to join. 
3) Make your home a mini-spa!
  • Set aside half an hour a week (I like Sunday nights) to have a mini-spa experience at home with these simple steps: 
  1. Take a hot shower to open your pores with steam 
  2. Clean out your skin with a deep cleansing scrub to fight clogged pores. 
  3. Then, kick back with a glass of chamomile tea to flush out toxins and help you sleep better.
  4. Don't forget the lotion after your shower too – the heat helps your skin absorb moisture more efficiently. 
  5. No gym, no problem! 
  • Get your body ready for the day by doing a series of light stretches in the morning to get yourself pumped up and realigned after a night’s sleep. I also always have a 5lb. bag of all-purpose flour in my house so that there is never any excuse not to get in a quick weight lift session. 
  • Lift the bag over your head (2 sets of 10 reps) to get in a good triceps workout.
