Cafe Prima Pasta Unveils Red Room on Reserve

South Beach is great a great place to eat, play, and shop. But since it's the place-to-be for tourists visiting South Florida, many places are extremely overpriced and always packed. As a native Miamian, I definitely know all the secret little spots in the area to enjoy a nice dinner, savour yummy cocktails, and where the stars hang out when they want to stay under the radar.

One of my favorite local spots is Café Prima Pasta. I grew up within a five mile radius of this Italian Restaurant and I actually remember when they first opened at 414 71st street, Miami Beach, Florida, 20 years ago! If you live in Miami, you know that restaurants here rarely enjoy such a successful run.

I recently attended the grand opening celebration for The Red Room-- an area created to offer private dining for group entertaining. It accommodates up to 40 guests comfortably with retractable, customized walls that provide flexibility for extension into the adjacent dining room for groups of up to 200 people.

Hosted by owner Gerardo Cea, we sampled a variety of their most popular dishes paired with delicious wine from Ferllen Winery. Sommelier Alejandro Ferllen was on-hand to teach us about his selection of red wines as well as tell us all about his family winery in Argentina. (Click here to learn more about their wine and where you can purchase it)

On this occasion I didn't hit the bar, but I have enjoyed many Happy Hours there and recommend their cocktails highly! The cocktail menu has many options to choose from but you can also feel free to tell the bartenders what flavors or spirits you favor the most. They can create something unique, on-the-spot, based on your suggestions.

Café Prima Pasta is truly a hidden gem in Miami Beach, but you don't have to believe me. Many celebrities have stopped by for dinner including Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, and Lenny Kravitz amongst many others.  I apparently missed out on Damon by just a few days!
