Oyster: Like Netflix for Books!

Oyster Books: Your New Addiction
I've been finding myself pretty depressed that I spend so much time on social media. I love hanging out on Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and Instagram seeing what all my friends and followers are up to. But I started to feel like my brain isn't being challenged, I needed to do some learning asap!

During one of my breaks I was checking out my Living Social app and discovered an awesome promo for a new reading app called Oyster. They were giving away two months free membership to the service so I decided to give it a try. I spent nearly an entire day reading book and adding books to my "Reading List" and it was amazing! First off, I had no idea Living Social gave away free deals, but it tipped me off to my new favorite app--- I'm grateful.

The selection of books available is enormous. There are many popular books including titles by Chelsea Handler, Candace Bushnell of "Sex and the City" and "The Carrie Diaries" fame, Dyan Cannon, Dale Carnegie, Steve Jobs, Paulo Coelho, Cassandra Clare, Anthony Bourdain, and so many others. And while J.K. Rowling, Deborah Harkness, and Charlaine Harris are names not yet in the library, they are constantly adding new titles so keep your eyes peeled. There is also a button you can click to suggest books you'd like to see.

My library shelves have runneth over!

It looks like the Living Social deal is no longer available but you get a free 7-day trial when you sign up. If you decide to check it out, use this link so that I can get credits for sending you over

They don't seem to have any audio books available so if that's more your thing, when searching for the Oyster deal this morning I noticed Living Social has a deal right now giving away two free months of Audible. I haven't tried that one out yet but I plan to check it out as well.

Have any of you tried Oyster yet?
