Gabrielle Union Talks Beauty, Her New Movie, and Life in Miami (Exclusive)

It takes a lot more than bikinis and martinis to be a Miami resident. Gabrielle Union, who is gearing up to marry "Miami Heat" star Dwyane Wade later this month, is using her star power to teach the community the importance of year round sun protection.

As a Neutrogena Brand Ambassador, the "Being Mary Jane" star visited the Miami Beach Community Health Center as part of the Buy 1 + Donate 1 Event on July 21st alongside singer/actress Sandra Echeverría. The duo handed out 280 suncare donation kits to fans while sharing with them the latest health figures on melanoma.

"Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for ages 25-29. Properly protecting children and teaching healthy sun habits is key. Skin cancer can affect anyone, regardless of skin color. Together with Neutrogena®, I'm spreading the word to everyone I know that skin cancer is a real issue and one that can be prevented with simple steps like wearing sunscreen and doing regular skin checks," said Gabrielle.

Ahead of the event, I was able to chat with Gabrielle about what's in her beauty bag, taking on the role of executive producer on the upcoming Lifetime film, "With This Ring," and her recommendations for getting the most out of your beauty products when living in a hot and humid city like Miami.

I love the Norwegian hand creme. It's been in my beauty bag/purse/book bag since I was in high school!
