With all the drama surrounding El Chapo and Kate Del Castillo, there's no better time to discuss the upcoming release of "Queen of the South." Kate first brought the role of Teresa Mendoza to life in Telemundo's Spanish-language novela in 2011.

Alice stars as Mendoza, a woman who is forced to go on the run after her drug dealer boyfriend is killed in Mexico. After finding refuge in America, she teams up with someone from her past to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring and avenge her lover's murder. They better watch out too! As she learns the tools of the trade, she will position herself to take over the cartel.

“Alice Braga does an outstanding job playing Teresa Mendoza, a determined woman who defies all odds, to not only survive, but to thrive in an unfamiliar world," said USA Network president Chris McCumber.

Mark Consuelos and Carlos Gomez will co-star. No official release date has been announced as of yet.
